Amrita Rao Felicitated Bharatpedia With India Excellence Awards

For nearly two years Bharatpedia has been working toward providing free educational content and has become India's largest multilingual encyclopedia in terms of the number of articles. According to official sources, Bharatpedia is available in 11 languages and the English version has over 184 million articles in different categories which made it the largest free encyclopedia in India. The platform was nominated for the India Excellence Awards 2022 initiated by Blindwink and was awarded India's Biggest Multilingual Encyclopedia of 2022 during the ceremony in the Taj Bangalore.


Speaking to the founders of Bharatpedia, Ipsita Chowdhury and Garry Sahota stated, “We're humbled that this prestigious award was conferred upon our work and we feel privileged that India Excellence Awards 2022 has recognized our work and appreciated it. We would like to thank and dedicate this award to all of our volunteers/contributors from each and every part of our country for their valuable time and the wonderful work they’ve done to make This happen. We request you all to please come forward and join us to build Bharatpedia much bigger and make our dream project bloom. A recognition like this award is always a motivational boost to the Bharatpedia family, so we are thankful and we are privileged.”



Bharatpedia is a free multilingual online encyclopedia written and maintained by a community of volunteer contributors through a model of open collaboration, using a wiki-based editing system. It was founded in 2020 and is currently available in English, Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Marathi, Tamil, Bhojpuri, Sanskrit, Mietie (modern), Mietie (ancient), and Hinglish.
